Deep Thoughts and Observations by Ken

Once again the Congressional Democrats, and the press are showing selective indignation with their hand ringing and howls of protest demanding the head of Karl Rove. This all stems from the Valerie Plame CIA investigation. Once again Democrats are pointing fingers at the Republicans while completely excusing and even defending those on their side who have engaged in much worse leaking with much greater consequences. Leaking information is Democrat's favorite pastime. They constantly use it to try and kill potential legislation or secret programs. They don't call Senator Patrick Leahy "Leaky Leahy" for nothing. He was caught leaking information when he headed the Intelligence Committee. You never hear Democrats criticize their own when they do something wrong, so there protests ring hollow when they accuse Republicans of wrong doing. Whether Karl Rove was right or wrong with what he did or didn't do does not excuse the Democrats from their blatant hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is what Democrats are all about so I don't expect them to change. Sometimes it is rather amusing, but sometimes it gets downright dangerous. There have been times when leaked information has gotten people killed. The press shouldn't complain because their lifeblood is leaked information. Just look how they are deifying the great leaker of the 20th century. Once known as "Deep Throat" Mark Felt is being held up as a hero. He broke laws and ethical standards to help bring down a President. As always however, to Democrats the end justifies the means. Mark Felt is a hero, but people like Linda Trip are villains. I guess hero status is only awarded to those who seek to bring down Republican Presidents. This just in! Read This great article in the Wall Street Journal Defending Karl Rove as a great whistleblower. I remember TIME magazine naming three female whistlblowers "Persons of The Year" for the blowing the lid off of the ENRON scandal. I wonder if we shall see Karl Rove grace the cover of TIME, recieving the same honor? I doubt it.

This would hold a lot more water with me if the GOP hadn't used Ken Starr to go on a witchunt around DC all through the 90s.

Sucks when this stuff happens to one of your boys, doesn't it?

Golly, he might have even obstructed justice.

That was enough to get a President impeached.

Amazing. But -- oh -- I forgot, Republicans don't commit crimes -- EVEN WHEN THEY DO! YAY!

I've heard DependsĀ® are a good product in this department. They don't prevent leakage, but they do a great job of preventing any leakage from gettng out and causing embarrassment!! lol

They are out to get Karl Rove because he is effective.  If he was not,t hey would not care.  So instead of waiting to see who the leaky is, they glom onto a non-item and demand he be removed.  Much like they did with every other Republican who is effective.

It is not going to change.  For far less did the Republicans remove Lott from a position of leadership while Durbin continues to roost.

The democratic party is imploding right in front of us. Their entire agenda is to get Rove "fired". That doesn't say much for their party.

Myrrander, what about the part where it turned out that Clinton actually did the things he was accused of doing?

Last time I checked, it seemed clear that Rove didn't leak anything to anybody, mostly because there was nothing to leak.

Allgation: Clinton had an affair with an intern.
Truth: Clinton had an affair with an intern.

Allegation: Rove leaked the name of a covert CIA operative.
Truth: Rove did not leak the name of a covert CIA operative.

Allegation: Clinton obstructed justice.
Truth: Clinton obstructed justice.

Allegation: Rove initiated a smear campaign against Valerie Plame.
Truth: Reporters called Rove and asked him about Valerie Plame. He gave minimal answers to their questions.

Allegation: Clinton lied under oath about his shenanigans.
Truth: Clinton lied under oath about his shenanigans.

Allegation: Rove is concealing his role in the Plame affair.
Truth: Rove has repeatedly issued verbal and written statements granting reporters the right to quote him on anything he has ever said to them.

Myrr, does this help you feel more comfortable about taking our complaints seriously, or do you still see this as a clear-cut case of Rove=Clinton?
